Our septic tank partially collapsed a few weeks ago. It is a crappy situation at our house. We are not backed up, but even after pumping we are full of shit...literally - mostly grey/ground water! Our new septic tank is going to be installed on Friday and we have been instructed to not let any liquids/solids (if you get my drift) go down any drains after 8:30 when the Roto Rooter people come to replace the tank. Friday should be interesting. I am planning on being at home when the crew gets there, but leaving shortly after... Only to return when it is finished so I can pay them (the most crappy part of it all...the paying for it)!
I could handle no running water (when our well pump went out last month) because we could at least put it down the drain (wash hands, use jugs to flush toilets, etc), but ahhh 6 hrs w/out the use of drains?!? These are the moments I thank goodness for living in a modern society! And, I also thank goodness for my husband's job...and that he has one when so many others are out of work.
