Double Whammy
Bass Fishing isn't top on my priority list, but I just read a book - recommended from a friend - about bass fishing tournaments. It had murders, suspense, a little romance, etc. It was quite entertaining and the fishing stuff what actually interesting. I recommend this book for a fun/easy read to anyone. I borrowed it from the library. Carl Hiaasan's Double Whammy.

Murphy
I am not sure if it is blessing Murphy is on our back lately because we are getting things fixed up around the house or if it is just a pain in the butt physically and financially. After all this fixin and changing and updating is done I am sure it will be time to start another project...home ownership...why didn't our parents enlighten us about it when we were kids?

Energy Rebates
I don't read consumer reports or check into major Idaho rebates or anything like that. But thankfully, I do have a friend who is really into that stuff. Well, I just bought a new dishwasher last weekend and because it falls into the time frame to get an 'energy' rebate from the state, I will get a $50 rebate! Yippie. What a deal!

Oh So Yummy Red Potatoes
6-8 medium red potatoes
1 Tbs Dill (approx)
1 Tbs Canola Oil (approx) [Olive Oil might be better for you, but I was out]
1 Tbs Garlic Salt (approx)
1 Tbs Black Pepper (approx)
1 Tbs Parsley (approx)
Rough Cut Potatoes into about 4 to 6 pieces (depending on how big the taters are). Put them into water until they are just covered in a pan. Boil mostly covered on Med for 10min.
Drain water from the Potatoes. Place Potatoes into a large dish. Sprinkle oil over potatoes and stir w/spoon to cover most of them with a little oil. Sprinkle garlic salt, pepper, dill, and parsley over the potatoes. Stir to coat relatively evenly.
Pour entire contents of potato bowl onto a cookie sheet. Bake in oven for approx 20 min at 350 degrees. (or until a fork goes easily into one of the large pieces)
Take out and ENJOY! :D
My family raved about this. My kids, who aren't big potato fans, even liked them so much they took seconds! I served them with a pre-marinated pork loin roast (from Costco), peaches, and cottage cheese. In hindsight I needed a grain, but forgot to make the rolls or take the bread out of the freezer! Next time...
